Curtis Stone launches his first book, “The Urban Farmer”, with stops throughout California. Join him in San Francisco on January 12 for an evening lecture: Farming in the City. With Q&A, book signings, and socializing at the Impact Hub San Francisco.

In this presentation, Urban Farmer Curtis Stone will take you on a tour of his one third of an acre urban farm, where you will get an inside look at the day to day operations of the farm from vegetable production to sales.

Curtis will show how he farms commercially, and profitably, in backyards and on small plots of land in the city, land that he doesn’t own. You’ll learn about the methods and techinques that Curtis has used over the last six years to grow his sales and profits. You will also see how the social, ecological, and economic benefits of his farm have had a net positive impact in the neighborhoods he farms in.

Curtis started the farm in 2010 for less than $10,000 and has grown the farms sales and profits ever since, proving that you don’t need a lot of money or land to farm profitably.

The presentation will be followed by Q&A.

This talk is an introduction to the full day Profitable Urban Farming workshops which will take place In Oakland on January 16 and Sonoma on January 17.
