In the heart of breathtaking Capay Valley, immerse yourself in a festival of rural living, domestic arts, and local agriculture. Full Belly Farm, one of the first and most prolific organic farms in the country, hosts the Hoes Down Harvest Festival, which includes farm tours, traditional arts and crafts, farm-fresh food, folk music, dancing, hands-on workshops, and seminars, offering the public a special chance to enjoy rural life and deepen our understanding and connection to the local food system. Recognized by the National Geographic for its children’s area, this event is fun for adults and kids alike. Camping in the orchard is available for a whole-weekend experience. Full Belly Farm is located in Yolo County within two hours of San Francisco and Sacramento areas and benefits the Ecological Farming Association and a variety of sustainable agriculture and community organizations. The main festival takes place on Saturday, October 3rd, 2016 with the following day (Sunday, October 4) featuring on-farm workshops and seminars.
